Awards
Over the past fifteen years, Woody Nook has collected more than 160 awards, including 28 Gold and 46 Silver medals in some of the country’s most prestigious wine competitions, not just in Western Australia, but also in Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales.
Our Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc have been the most consistent high achievers with a total of 21 Golds between them. We were particularly thrilled, in January 2002, to win our first international medal, a Gold for our Cabernet Sauvignon 1999 at the Winpac competition held in Hong Kong. Our Chenin Blanc was best in its class for five successive years (2001-2005) at the Royal Perth Wine Show in Western Australia.
With congratulations to our winemaker Neil Gallagher, we proudly list firstly the amazing medal count of his Gallagher’s Choice Cabernet Sauvignon 2004, followed by two judges’ assessments of this wine. Other 2007 successes follow:

This is what the judges said of this wine at the 2006 Winewise Small Vigneron Awards: "This wine shows a range of classic Cabernet Sauvignon characteristics from cassis and tobacco right through to a suggestion of leaf. The palate is particularly long and the tannins are fine-grained. Very Stylish. Highly Recommended."
These are the notes of the judging panel at the "Three Region Cabernet Tasting" conducted by Winewise: "Outstanding: 2004 Woody Nook Gallagher's Choice (Margaret River) shows powerful cassis aromatics together with a subtle dusty complexity. The palate is firm, satisfying and strongly varietal. Another great success for this very consistent producer."
